Part II: Steps to Import PO Data in NautilusLog

Importing PO data into NautilusLog is a five-step process: select your file format, use the official template, apply the exact sheet names, complete all required fields, and double-check for common errors before uploading.

Quick-Start Checklist - 

  1. Choose Your Format - Select either:

    Flat File – One sheet with all data in a single row per PO item.

    Sheet-by-Sheet – Five sheets, one for each entity.

  2. Use the Official Template
    Download the appropriate Excel template (Flat or Sheet-by-Sheet) before you begin.

  3. Name Sheets Correctly

    Flat File: ihm.flat

    Sheet-by-Sheet: ihm.vessel, ihm.article, ihm.supplier, ihm.purchase_order, ihm.purchase_order_item

  4. Complete All Required Fields
    Refer to PART I for the list of mandatory fields. 

      5.    Avoid Common Error - Double-check for:

            Incorrect sheet names

            Missing or inconsistent external IDs (extids)

            Invalid status values

            Duplicate identifiers


Follow These Steps to Import Data into the NautilusLog IHM Tool -

Step 1: Access the Import Section
  • Log in to the NautilusLog IHM tool.
  • Click the Teams icon (second icon at the top left) to open the Teams menu.
  • Go to the Buckets tab to reach the file import area.
  • Click Import File to open the import dialog.



Step 2: Select and Upload the PO Data File

  • Upload a file in one of the supported formats: .jsonl, .xml, .xls, or .xlsx.

  • Confirm the upload to begin the import.


Step 3: Monitor Import Progress

  • The status will show PROCESSING while the data is being imported.

  • Once complete, view the results under Import Status.

  • Click the info (ℹ️) button next to the import entry to review detailed results.


Step 4: Review the Import Results
Imports fall into three result categories:

  • Successful – All items imported correctly; no action needed.

  • Partial – Some items failed; download the log file, correct the errors, and re-upload.

  • Failure – Major errors prevented import; download the log file, resolve the issues, and retry.
